Cathkin Braes Golf Club was founded in 1888 and is the oldest golf course in Glasgow. The 6200-yard, par 71, moorland course is situated only five miles from the centre of Glasgow, it is in the middle of the countryside and widely regarded as one of the best inland courses in the West of Scotland.
Working closely with various key staff at Cathkin Braes Golf Club, we quickly diagnosed issues with the existing site that needed attention. Mainly, there was no focus on marketing & promotion and therefore nothing to attract and entice new members to the club. The site was too member orientated which wasn’t helping. We decided that a public-facing website was required and a more robust members-area of the site which would offer the ability for the club to better communicate with its members.
Of course, at Peroosh we always build with responsive in mind so began the task of making the website device agnostic to ensure as many people (potential new members!) could access the site as possible. The club was very good to work alongside and ensured that we had all the resources necessary and on time! Images were plentiful which really helped towards dressing up the site. Even going as far as obtaining drone flyover footage to accompany each hole guide and took the browsing experience to the next level!
Over on the members-only side, we ensured each member had their own log-in details allowing them to access all the member-only content including competition announcements, results and news. We also hooked up the ClubV1 system to allow members to book their tee-times online.
Cathkin Braes are delighted with the end result and continue to benefit from our Peoorsh support package. With a very easy to use content management system, the website now allows the club to properly market themselves with a clear structured website accessed by very user-friendly navigation. The re-design has given a new modern look and feel keeping it all up to date and pleasing on the eye. The entire site is responsive and so fully accessible on mobile phones and tablets.
